The Arts and Crafts movement
redefined craft as art and craftsmen as artists. The makers
of early 20th Century Arts and Crafts furniture produced their
pieces with certain tenets in mind. They believed in the artistic
value of everyday objects, hand craftsmanship, quality materials
and solid construction. In the American West, we were blessed
with what many consider virtuoso examples of the era, the
architecture and furniture of Charles and Henry Greene. Many
of our Mission Collection pieces are inspired by the Greene
Brothers.
