The Presidio Collection represents a simplified Victorian
style reminiscent of the Territorial West. By the time the
railroad arrived in Tucson in 1881, the adobe walls of the
old presidio had begun to come down. In a scenario repeated
in towns throughout the West, Victorian ornamentation arrived
from the East. Local furniture makers would emulate the new
styles, but the lack of technology would mandate a simplified
version. We appreciate the clean lines that were a result
of these constraints and our Presidio Collection is reflective
of that appreciation.
